What is it?
Electrocauterization is the process of destroying tissue using heat conduction from a metal electrode heated by electric current. The procedure is used to stop bleeding from small vessels (larger vessels being ligated) or for cutting/excision of a soft tissue.

It is indicated in case of viral papilomas, warts, seboreic keratosis or other cutaneous benign tumors like papilomatous nevi. Lesions removal require local or regional anesthesia, so that this procedure is completely painless.
